Last night I felt like doing something creative. I did not want a mess because it was rather late. I had seen an idea similar to this and I already had the clothespins so why not give it a try? I papered the long side of the clothes pin and added a flower. That wasn't enough, I added the leaves and a button. I had a bird pattern handy, why not try the bird? I like the distressed look, I used an ink pad to give them the worn and tattered look.

Changing of the Blog
My daughter helped me with a few changes to my blog. Okay saying she helped me is incorrect. She did the work and I watched. I really like the changes. I enjoy blogging and think that I will love going back and looking at my first posts. I am striving to get better. I also hope to be more creative and not so critical of my blogs. We are all friends here. The picture is of a calender I bought at Barnes and Noble during their After Christmas Sale. I did not intend on hanging it, I bought it for the beautiful artwork. It has found a place in my kitchen and adds some color to a once dreary corner.

Tissue Holders Act 2
The 100 tissue holders that I made for a friend are finished and need to be delivered. They are favors for a bridal shower. I started making them in January and finished in March. I've noticed that the holders I made in March were made from brighter fabrics than the ones made in January. Isn't it funny how the seasons can affect the color choices we make. It may not look like 100, but there is another layer underneath. I counted them at least 20 times today and threw in an extra one just to be sure.

Stenciling
Last week Stacy at Painted Pink Pot blogged about stenciling. I had stenciled wall borders in a few rooms in our house. The last project I did was in our bathroom. The white stenciling gives the plain green wall just a little something. It is the only room that still has any stenciling in it. How many hours were spent changing colors, brushing on colors, and dabbing off colors? If I ever stencil again it will certainly be with one color.

Magazines
Like many of you I buy decorating magazines. I cut out pages that I love. I do not think I have ever recreated any of the pages for myself but yet, I still continue to cut them. They can be found in different folders all over the house. I would like to take the pages and make some sort of book for them. They all tell a story. Some I look at and question what on the page was important to me. How my taste has changed over the years. These few pages will be added to the collection.

Chest of Drawers
My great grandfather made this chest of drawers. I am not sure how old it is but I am guessing it is at least 75 years. I have had it for 15 years now. I painted it blue a few weeks ago. Some people would like it in the original stain color. If it was, I am not sure I would like it as much. I like it painted. I think maybe he would be happy that someone is using it and displaying it. Rather than being left in a basement getting old and moldy.

Comfy Couch
We have had this couch for a few years now. After a few trips to the furniture store and a fantastic sale. I bought it and a few other pieces. It was a drastic change because I was very much into the dark country look. Now this room is light and airy. It may look a bit stuffy, but it is really comfy. Believe me the pillows are usually on the floor and the table has magazines and the remotes on it. Only when I am home alone does the room look like this.
