Time for a Change

It is time for a change. Change is good, so they say! November, is not one of my favorite months. The sun sets earlier, the temperature drops and it also means being trapped inside more than I like. However, I am determined to change! I do not see a move to a warmer climate in the near future. It is what it is! I have to come up with things to do. Be creative! Get out there and make the most of fall in New England! I can either embrace the colder months ahead or just complain about them. This will not be easy for this summer loving girl. But, time is not standing still and neither will I! So, November here I come! It is time to wake up and smell the pumpkin flavored coffee! Then the eggnog flavored coffee!

The last of the treats have been delivered

I made a few goodie bags for two of my favorite goblins. I love the witches, they have such a presence about them, don't you agree! I am sure that I do not want to tangle with the one in the middle!
I love the phrase"Anything can happen on Halloween". I just hope what happens is all good, no evil here, please!

Captain Nathan, my almost four year old friend loves the pirates!

I love this little skull and crossbones!
I hope there is nothing wrong with that.

Lots of treats in these two bags!

We have a fantastic little candy store in town. In this box, is chocolate covered popcorn.

This little treat was delivered to my parents.

One last little Halloween tag!

Halloween 2009 is in the books!

Time to refocus and start new projects!

Trick or Treat?

I answer treat! I made these brownies two days ago and they were soooo good! I think it might be the fact that the are covered in milk chocolate frosting! I am still on my Halloween candy making tour! That accounts for the cute white chocolate owl.
I wish everyone could stop by for a brownie and a hot cup of coffee.
Have a safe Halloween!
I hope the treats far out way the tricks!

Inspiration

A few years ago, I discovered the wonderful world of blogging. I had heard of blogging, but I never thought it was something I would find interesting. Was I wrong! One blog led me to another, then another and then another . I never knew there were so many creative people out there. I have small group of friends that love to make things but most people I know, do not even own a glue gun! Really, a house without a glue gun!

The pumpkin on my computer screen inspired me to make this Halloween card. The card does not really resemble the pumkin. It was all about inspiration.

Then I made another card.

Then I made another card.
All the cards were made, because I was inspired by a cute pumpkin I found while looking at all the creative blogs out there.

Look closely what do you see?

There is not a lot of contrast of colors in this picture to see what is going on here. It is a bottle of hand sanitizer that I bought last week. As it sat on the counter I thought, boring! I bought it to go in our bathroom. I already have a soap dispenser in there and I thought that transferring this into another dispenser would be confusing. So, I left it in the not so cute bottle as is.

That did not last long, it had to be made pretty! I really should be doing many other things around the house. But, as I have learned over the years the dishes, laundry and dust will be waiting for me no matter how hard I try to ignore the house cleaning. I may have gone a bit overboard with this project but, this little owl makes me smile and what is the harm in that!

Chocolate Covered Marshmallows

I first saw these cute little treats about two years ago at a local art festival. I am not sure why it has taken me so long to try and make them. They are so cute and very easy to make!

I bought a bag of marshmallows, dipped half of a marshmallow in melted white chocolate (I dipped about 8) put them in the fridge for about 5 minutes to harden. Dipped the other half in peanut butter chocolate. Again, I put them in the fridge to harden. See, very easy. Nice little treats for the trick or treaters.

Halloween Pencils

My youngest daughter is in her senior year of college, she is majoring in elementary education and psychology. This semester on Tuesdays she observes a class of second graders.

She thought it would be nice to hand out a little something to the students for Halloween. She bought 48 Halloween pencils, I tied two together and then hot glued paper pumpkins and ghosts to the ribbon.

They came out pretty cute! We will probably do the same for Christmas.
