Here's to the class of 2010

Today we will be going to our youngest daughter's college graduation. It wasn't that long ago she was a preschooler. Now, with diploma in hand she will be an elementary school teacher.

A little look at the younger years, she was to say the least a character, who kept us well entertained!

Blissful Hour

Not much going on today. I am enjoying a beautiful spring day. I am relaxing sitting on the deck (actaully I am sitting in a chair on the deck) with an iced coffee, reading a fashion magazine. It is rather rare that I have my household chores done, but today I do. A friend gave me this plant a few weeks ago. It is so pretty. Maybe one year I will buy only white flowers for the yard. Our house is light gray with white trim and shutters. I think I will google white gardens and see how they look. I love google!

Waiting to bloom!

Every year I plant impatience in this whiskey barrel. Not much to look at right now, but in a couple of weeks with a little water and shade this barrel will be full of white and pink flowers! I will post an after picture in a few weeks! That is a lot of pressure! They better bloom and bloom big!

Stamp On!

Last week a friend gave me a box of stamps. I mean, the box is full of stamps! I am a very lucky girl.
It also came with a book full of ideas. But, what do I make cards! Also in the box was a pretty blue ink pad. The color reminds me of the sky that I would like to wake up to every morning. Or the color of the warm water of the Caribbean. I would not mind waking up to that every morning either. Boy, I am going off on a tangent. Focus!

What I would like to say is, I must do more stamping!
The cards were easy to make. My daughter likes these two the best and I love the one with the orange background. Either way it was a nice way to spend an hour or so. I think I am slowly getting back into the wonderful world of crafting!

Bake Something New

I wanted to do more baking this year. Try new things. I started off with a bang. I was baking cookies, scones and muffins. Then not so much! I will admit I am a recipe collector. I use to buy cookbooks, now I just find recipes online and put them in my favorites. This recipehttp://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2010/05/a-tasty-recipe-grannys-chocolate-cobbler/ I found on The Pioneer Woman blog. I found her blog just after Christmas, I like it. What I liked about this recipe was that I had all the ingredients.

Let me just say I was not disappointed with Granny's Chocolate Cobbler. I made it for dessert last night. It is like eating a brownie all covered in warm melted chocolate. It sat on the counter while we were eating supper so I did warm it up a few seconds before I put the ice cream on top. There is something about the warm chocolate and cold ice cream. I am going to make this again. It was very good!

Thank you Granny, the cobbler was terrific!

How did we end up here?

I think every yard should have a flamingo in it! These two are just wondering how they ended up in Rhode Island? I think they are planning their escape. They have had it here! Flamigos and sunny, southern, warm weather states just go hand in hand. Yet, these cute yard creatures are popping all over Rhode Island.
Have a nice weekend.

Just Cards

My card supply is running low! How did that happen?

I needed a few thank you cards.

I just love this bird, it has attitude. I guess I would too, if I was walking around with a crown on my head!

This flower card is rather simple, but the colors are so bright and cheerful.
That was how I was feeling yesterday, cheerful, The weather was great, some may say a perfect spring day. Today is cloudy, gray, overcast, chilly, dismal, dreary and downright lousy! Maybe it is not that bad. We just can not seem to put a few nice days together. Spring in New England it's like a box of chocolates!
