I am slowly finishing all my deck projects. The green metal planter belonged to my grandfather, all I did was spray it green and put a few plants on it. Not much thinking there. The whiskey barrel behind it will be filled with mint, hopefully this weekend. I have another barrel, just out of the picture that I filled with basil this week . I love the smell of basil. It is so nice to be able to cut a few pieces whenever I need to. I planted red and white impatience in this barrel, since they love shade they will do just fine under the umbrella. I have to cut a few inches off the umbrella stake or I will find this umbrella over the fence on windy days. At night I light the candles and it is just so pretty. In the background is our shed. Just a shed, nothing glamorous like a studio, the usual yard tools are stored in there.

Your deck is colorful and lovely. I wish you would come down and work on mine. The original owners of this house built the deck around a small to medium sized oak tree. It was pretty. 29 years later, that oak is really big! It takes up much of the middle of the deck. My daddy reclaimed a wrought iron table and chair set and gave it to me, that takes up the rest of the deck. The cute squirrels that live in the oak tree dig up everything I plant out there. Frankly, I have given up out there.
Hi what a nice blogg you have your yard looks wonderful. You have used such pretty colors.I love the idea with the umbrella.
Best Wishes
Brenda
I am amazed at all the trees, its a sea of green. What a lovely place to have to sit and relax.
I haven't found mint yet this year, but I know a nearby garden that has it in the ground and I think I am going to go and dig up some. I know it is prolific if it is put in the ground, so maybe I'll follow your lead and put it in a container of some sort. Your shed exterior is lovely.
As for the shutters, I think the topiaries you've painted are gorgeous, and the lace curtain goes well (I think Hubby has probably come to realize that?!...hee hee)
Everything is just so beautiful!
I think that your deck is especially lovely!
I would love sitting out there with a glass of iced tea!
Blessings,
Julie

Hi Denise

That's it, I'm coming over to see how you painted them shutters. Your home and yard are adorable, especially the shed. I left a comment on the geraniums, but I didn't see it. So I'll have to tell you again how the geraniums are perfect for your porch. Your flowers are wonderful and I so enjoy visitin with you. Hugs, RoseMarie
PS, Yes I dry the Hydangea blooms and stick them in my Christmas tree. I also love ice cream sandwiched, softened.
