Happy Thanksgiving!

I made a few pumpkin breads to give to my friends. I wish I could give one to each and everyone of you to have with your Thanksgiving meal. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Enjoy the long weekend! See you all on Monday.

Turkey Place Cards

Last year, I made these cute little turkey candies. They went over pretty well, so I made them again this year. They are made from peanut butter melts, that you can get at any craft store. I usually don't care for candy melts, but the peanut butter flavor is really rather good.

Did I mention that they also double as place cards? We are really not very formal. I just like the idea of place cards.

This is how they will look on my new turkey plates. I have so much to do to get ready for Thanksgiving. Right now, I am making pumpkin cookies. The recipe make 6 dozen cookies, I never would of started them at 7PM if I knew this! They better be delicious!

Snow Boxes

Let me introduce you to my little friends! I have been having so much fun making these!
I had been thinking about making a few of these for a while now. I bought a paper mache ball at Michael's last week. I painted it white, but I was not the least bit happy with the way it looked. The snowball looked evil. A little white glitter and poof it is happy, happy, happy!

What I like most about "my little friends', is that they look so cute with any color combination. No need to fuss about being too matchy matchy!

This little guy is the last one I made. I really liked the first one so much that I did not think any others would measure up to it. But how can you not like this profile? His little turned up nose? I was having trouble finding something to make the carrot noses. A friend suggested orange pipe cleaners, I would of never thought of that. They worked out fantastic. What would he look like without his cute nose?

So True

I have been seeing this saying more and more in stores lately. It is embroidered on pillows and stamped on the front of night shirts. I am sure it has been around for a while, now it just seems to be everywhere. I saw it stamped on a sign at TJ Maxx or Marshalls. It could of been Home Goods, they all carry the same things. Why do I have to go to all three? I just do. Back to the sign. I did not want to spend the $5.99 on it so I wrote myself a note to remember to make one. As you can see, I remembered! It will hang on the Christmas tree this year.

I love candy canes, they are a staple in my house at Christmas time!

Fan Folded Circles

A few weeks ago while looking at all the pretty blogs, I found one that had folded paper into circles like these. They are not fans but they are folded in the same manner. I can not remember what blog I found it on or what she actually did with them. There seems to be so many blogs, I could stay on my computer for hours maybe days and not have to visit the same one twice! Okay, back to the fan folded circles, I thought Christmas ornaments. I can always use new ornaments. I made a few this weekend.

The blue ornament is made from Christmas wrapping paper. The Santa pushing the pretty packages comes from one of last years Christmas cards.

I really enjoyed making these. I like the ones with the pages torn from old books the best.

As I mentioned before I am spending way too much time on my computer and for a few days I am also putting away my paper and glue. My house needs attention.! I can not remember that last time I painted something or moved the furniture around! I also need to get organize! This may take a while. I hope to be back with something new on Friday. It is going to take all I have to not post, but I will be visiting.

Wonderful Weekend

Raining for the third day in a row! It makes me want to sit on the couch watch movies and look through all the holiday inspired magazines, that are piling up on the coffee table. Blink and November will be gone. Time to start making lists! Food lists, gift lists and don't forget to do lists! But for now I am watching "The Holiday" my go to movie. Have a wonderful weekend!

Bag It

This little snow woman is made from one of those unfinished wooden cut outs. I papered it in a cute cream colored paper. I like the distressed look for Christmas. But I also love glitter. In this day and age you can mix anything, so she is a bit of both. I wish I could wear a hat like that, but I am not a hat person. I would like to be, just not a good look for me. However, she wears it well.
I bought these bags last year at an "After Christmas Sale". They were 10 for $1.00. I bought 20. I am amazed I found them and I wonder why I only bought 20. Most likely, I did not want to look at another green or red thing. There is that certain point when you say no more!!! I just stamped a border on the bottom. I love the border stamp and the white ink. I have to find more things to do with them.

This owl looks very intense, okay he looks a little mean spirited. But I have a difficult time tossing a project, even it is this small. There is an e at the end of the word celebrate, I did not notice it until after I posted the picture.

Church and Reindeer

This little church almost hit the garbage can a few times on Sunday. Sometimes what you think will be an easy little craft turns out to be a two hour long process between what you see in your mind and what you really end up with. I want to make a few more and now that I know what I am doing maybe the next one will be finished in less than two hours.

I saw quite a few of these cute paper churches and houses at Christmas time last year. But as any crafter knows you have to start your Christmas crafts very early. Early November may still be too late.

I love these little unfinished pieces you can buy at any craft store. Until last year all I ever did was paint them. Then my fascination with all things paper kicked in. Now, the possibilities are endless. A green dotted reindeer, why not?

Martini Glass

I have been thinking about making a few beaded glasses for Christmas presents. I had already bought the beads and wire and Saturday I bought a glass at the local dollar store. I only bought one, in case this easy idea turned out to be not so easy. I am happy to say, it was not difficult at all. Between the cost of glasses, beads and wire it will cost $15.00 to make four beaded martini glasses. I think that is a good deal. I better get back to the dollar store and buy three more glasses.

The small beads are a very dark blue and the larger beads are orange, white, green and purple. The glasses are a very pretty shade of green, I would say olive. I never thought I would find such a nice glass at the dollar store. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

This and That

I love covering journals, besides making cards it is my favorite project. I also made two checkbook holders and I hope to make a few more today if I can find the batting for the inside. I can lose anything! I could lose my car keys in the car. But that is a story for another day. If not, I will think of something else to make. They came out rather cute.

The inside did not photograph that well, I hope you can make out that it is a checkbook holder.

I have a small order for a few journals, cards and tissue holders. These are the journals that I made. The measure 4" x 6" and fit nicely in your pocketbook. I write in mine almost everyday. Nothing too personal, usually a grocery list or a window measurement. But it comes in quite handy! It is always in my pocketbook and I never leave the house without my bag.

I know that I should not pick a favorite, but I love this bird journal. I am not a big fan of pink, but I must admit the color has grown on me in the past few months. Or it could be the crown, what girl doesn't like a crown? I may not want to wear one, but they are pretty to look at.

Cards in the Making

If I wanted to stay awake last night and watch the election unfold, I would have to be stay busy. Making a few cards did the trick. I have four more to finish. I have an idea what I will put them in, but that will be another post, on another day.

Stacked Cans

I finished papering the empty paint cans for one of my favorite new teachers. This means another finished project! There are not enough days left in the year to finish all my projects, but I am going to try to complete as many as I can.

A favorite blogger of mine may see something familiar to them if they look closely. I am "talking" to you Steviewren. The cans were looking a bit boring, so I added a few words to three of them.

Thanks for stopping by and taking an interest in what I do. The things I make are not ground breaking or all that original, but I like sharing them with you. I have so many things I want to make. But there is just so many hours in a day. Still 24, right? I hope to keep papering, sewing and blogging for a long time.

After Halloween

I want to share with everyone all the great Halloween decorations I found at the "After Halloween Sale" at TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Everything was priced $6. and under, way under! Last year, I stumbled upon some great deals. This year, I made sure I was there to see if anything cute was left. To say the least, this year I was not disappointed. I am thinking it will be a tradition!

These two cuties were only $4.00. I am not trying to say they are cheap in a bad way. But for $4.00 they were placed in my shopping basket! I hope they will be happy here, they have an uncertain look on their faces.

It is sad that Halloween is over and I must wrap up all my great buys and put them away for a year. However, I will be happy when I get to see their happy faces next October. The cat does not look all that happy and what is wrong with the pumpkin? He looks like he just saw a ghost!

Here we go Again

Tonight, we are going to a 25 th wedding anniversary party. A nice way to spend a Sunday night! This is our third 25th anniversary party of the year. I decided to take the glue stick, paper and scissors out a day early and make a card. That is what I did with the extra hour! It also saves me a trip to the store to buy one, yes I do buy cards every once in a while. I also get a chance to wear the new black boots I bought on Friday!

Welcome November

Turning another page on the calender today. Where did October go? I have been very busy this week but not on the creative side. I know I finished a few things, but nothing new and exciting. This weekend I will be busy with other fun things, so I am not complaining! But next week I am going to get the glue, paper and scissors out where they belong!
