Last week my daughter and I took a ride to Wakefield, Rhode Island. They have a lot of cute stores. A store called The Purple Cow, had quite a few candle holders wrapped with wire and beads. I burn a lot of candles and I had a few glass holders, so why not give it a try.
I bought the wire and beads at Jo Ann's, I was going for a "beachy" look. It was very easy and they really look pretty! My daughter is going to make some for Christmas gifts. Okay, the wine bottle is full of blue water. The wine was from Sharpe Hill Vineyard in Pomfret, Ct. I have one more bottle that I am going to fill with water and put them on my window sill. The label is just so pretty! I could not throw this bottle away!

Do you Doodle?
Who does not doodle? While on the telephone the other day I doodled a flower. I added a little greenery,a few little red dots, a greeting and poof I had a card! Sunflowers seem to be everywhere I look this week, so I colored the flower yellow and brown. A farm up the road has a huge patch of sunflowers. I hope to take a few pictures of them before poof, they are gone!

Another Wristlet!
I know, another wristlet! I made this one on Saturday and used it that night. I have a few weeks to use it here in New England before the weather changes and I start to reluctantly change my clothes and pocketbooks over to fall colors. I have not worn a pair of jeans all summer. It is something I hate to do! It is capris and skirts for me! I still can't wear white pants after Labor Day! I already ironed a white skirt for tomorrow! Getting in all the white I can before Tuesday!!! Labor Day Weekend is pretty much the end of summer here in New England. The weather is already getting a bit cooler in the mornings.

Mums the word!
I can not ignore the fact that some of the flowers I planted in the spring are starting to fade. Mums are out in full force in New England. I bought a bunch! I went to the shed and there was the shovel, I took it as a sign. I can never find the shovel when I need it! I bought a few shrubs too. Yes, these will be planted today! It is off to work! Did I mention it is warm here and the afternoon sun is right where I intend to work! The colors are so pretty!

Tags Tags Tags
Quick post today. I bought 4 boxes of these large tags last week. They come 12 to a box so I have 48 to decorate. They measure 4.5" x 6.5" Truth be told, I may have bought a few more but 48 or 72, I have a lot to decorate. It can be a long winter here in New England. I have a few things to make for my friend's classroom. School starts Wednesday, so I will be busy all day!

I need a Wrislet!
While I had my sewing machine out today, I decided to make myself a wristlet. I bought a yard of this fabric about a month ago. It is very pretty, don't ya think? The wristlet is smaller than it appears in the picture. It measures about 4.5" x 7.0". It took longer for me to decide whether to put the button on, than it took to make it. I just cut a pattern out of a piece of yesterday's paper. All in all it was easy and I like it. We are going out for dinner tomorrow night, I think I will use it.

A Banner Day!
Made a banner yesterday for a friend. She has moved into a new apartment and her kitchen just needed one! I think everyone should have a banner! She chose the word CAFE for her kitchen window. I am making a valance for her so maybe I will show you a picture of the window when it is all finished.

Small Gift Tags
Another quick post! Last week I made a few of these small gift cards. Look close you can see I stapled the edges, I like the look. I also like using pages from old books. I think the pages give the cards or whatever I am making a vintage look. I have a lot of old books that I can use! Now, I am off to finish reading a book about Irish fairies. It is a suspense novel based in Boston and Ireland.

Button Jar
I made this cute little button jar last week. The jar was just too cute to throw away! I have decided that I need more buttons! I sure do use a lot on my projects. I am still busy working around the house and enjoying the warm sunny days here in New England. Right now, I need a cup of coffee to help me tackle all my household chores! It's all about coffee...

Enjoying Summer
I am going to be taking a few days off to enjoy a long weekend. Tomorrow, I will be going out with friends to celebrate a birthday. We live pretty close to Foxwoods Casino so that is where we are headed. I am not a gambler by any stretch of the imagination! I like to go deposit my $20, have lunch and maybe do a little shopping! The next few days I will travel where the wind takes me. No plans, just taking it easy and enjoying the summer!

Bright Colors!
I made another paper covered chocolate box on Friday. I also made some cards (they are in the box) and I just love everyone of them. However, the box and cards not for me, but a gift for a friend. The last picture is two small white bags with gift cards attached. I love the bright colors! It was very hard not to do a little something creative yesterday, but I did paint the tops two coffee tables and an end table that are in my living room. That has to count for something! Boring!

Covered Composition Notebook
A quick post for today! I had a very nice weekend! I did a little papering. The end result is a composition notebook that I started last week and finally finished. Most of the paper is actually wallpaper. I finished a few other things. But I must put my glue stick down for a few days. I think my laundry is actually walking to the washer! My house needs a good spring cleaning...I know it is summer. I missed spring cleaning this year. I must of been papering something during that time. Maybe I was planting something, I can not remember. So off I go to wash, dust and vacuum. This may take a while. It's a dirty job and I guess I have to do it! I hope to visit every one's blog tonight!

No crafting Today!
Today, while I was not crafting...okay I said to myself in the morning I was not going to do anything creative. My house needs a good cleaning, the plants are crying for attention and what do I do? I look at my favorite blogs and get inspired to make a little something. Why I thought of making gift card holders , I do not know. Nothing in the blogs even suggested gift cards holders. But here are a few of the card holders that I made while not crafting today! I actually like to save some of the gift cards after they have been used. They are so pretty. The Starbucks cards are some of my favorites!

Move, or I will paper You!
Okay, please be patient with me while I paper everything in my house that does not move! My daughter has been making me cds for a long time now. They can be found in my glove compartment along with the registration, spare sun glasses and a bag of spice drops. We never usually have any cases to put them in, it's a wonder they last as long as they do. Well, today I made a insert for an old case. The girl image is cut from a book, I am afraid I have no connection to her. I love this new paper I bought last week. I have tried the pastel color combination, I like bright colors.
Pretty Papers!
Last Friday I bought some beautiful papers and large tags at a local store, The Christmas Tree Shop. It sells everything from greeting cards to beach chairs and so much more. The Christmas items are now only seasonal. Their catch phrase is "Don't you just love a bargain?" Well, of course I do! I have decided that bright colors especially yellow, reds and blues are the colors I like to use right now. I had to go back back yesterday and buy a few more packs of paper. The pack contains 18 pretty coordinated papers and a few flower cut outs. The packs were made for me! How could I refuse? I have already made a few projects from the papers. Here is a birthday card I made Sunday night.

Apron with cute Daises!
Thursday night my daughter and I went to Jo Ann's to pick out fabric for an apron. She wanted an apron to wear to work. I mentioned before that she is working at an art camp this summer. The apron will help keep her clothes clean! Now, how am I going to keep the apron clean? Oh, well it was fun to make. I love the cute little daises. Really, who doesn't?

Papered box
An update on the project I started earlier this week. It started as a chocolate box that I kept from Valentine's Day. When I think of all the boxes that I have thrown away over the years, I just cringe! This box will hold the finished rolled paper pages that I will use for my next paper wreath. If you look closely at the last picture you will see two new projects that I have started. I love covering composition notebooks! With the back to school sales out there I am starting to replenish my stash!
