Beige Covered Chairs

I have no reason for posting this picture, other than I like the way it looks. I had some leftover netting and I bought the Dream pin a few weeks back. I added it the table centerpiece.

I have been working on recovering my dinning room chairs for the past few days. I have two out of four chairs done and hopefully I will finish the rest by the weekend. They were covered in a dark red floral print for about three years . Beige is boring, but I think that will let me be more creative with everything else in the room.

I bought this brown fabric to make a few pillows for the red couch in the living room. Yet, another unfinished project. I wanted to see what it would look like for a tablecloth. I like it! In the picture below you can see that it is a rather small piece of fabric. It is crazy what you can do with the right camera angle. I do hope there is more of this fabric at Jo Ann's. It ties all the rooms together nicely.

This and That

This is a little piece of a wind chime that I have hanging under the pergola. Unfortunately, we live at the bottom of a hill and there is seldom enough wind to make the wind chime move. It has been in the same place for five years, I have heard it twice! But it does look pretty there.

I can not believe how much these plants have grown! The before picture was taken on May 27! Not all of my plants have been so fortunate, there have been a few failures. I will not be so cruel as to show you, the lets just say, the sad plants, but I have not given up on them yet! There is always hope.

Loving this Blue

I ignored the dishes in the sink once again this morning. I am sure they are not going to go anywhere. So I am not worried! I just love using this color on my outdoor projects. It makes the other things look a bit drab, but look what the color does to these red flowers! I have to put my paint brush down and give some attention to the laundry, that is also not going anywhere! I want a maid....maybe next year!

The weekend Continues

Still celebrating the 4 th here in Rhode Island, well at least at my house. I am still working on my little pergola project. I took this picture at night, soon I hope to have some pretty lights on the greenery (fake) above the two hanging plants. Off to do a little more celebrating, which usually means eating! Good thing the next major holiday is a few months away!

Very Americana !

Last week I saw a cute little bag at TJ Maxx. It was too small for an everyday bag for me, but it would be nice as a camera bag. I knew I had some left over fabric at home that I could use to make a bag. The blue fabric was left over from a pocketbook I made for a friend and I always have red gingham in the house. The white yo yo (white dot) with the red button are also leftovers! I was already halfway there just had to get out the sewing machine.
I like the way it came out, the red ric-rac is cute as a strap. I think that it adds a little whimsy to the bag.

Inspired Again !

A few weeks ago I was inspired by a blog that I have been visiting for about a year now, A Cottage Industry. It is one of the first blogs I ever went to on a daily basis. I would start my day wondering what she had made the night before and I still do. I have since added many favorites to my list and would be lost without checking in on them everyday. I have only commented on her blog twice and the last time was because I loved the banner she made. Her banners were very patriotic. I have since made a few banners, but mine have more of a garden theme. This is when I started tearing out pages from books that I was going to donate to a book drive. That led to the paper wreath, which led to the card. That is how it started...where it will finish I am not too sure. I was thinking about putting up two lace panels, but I like this much better!
