Chest of Drawers

My great grandfather made this chest of drawers. I am not sure how old it is but I am guessing it is at least 75 years. I have had it for 15 years now. I painted it blue a few weeks ago. Some people would like it in the original stain color. If it was, I am not sure I would like it as much. I like it painted. I think maybe he would be happy that someone is using it and displaying it. Rather than being left in a basement getting old and moldy.

How wonderful to have such an heirloom!
It is truly beautiful, painted! Especially that blue!

Thank you Julie and Painted Pink Pot for your comments. The color does not photograph that well for me. I keep fabrics, winter hats and scarfs and well let's just say it...junk in it. I have a huge junk drawer.

I try to keep things original but nmst often giving something a fresh coat of paint gives it new life! I have an old hutch that I am dying to paint..it came from my MIL..but my hubby won't let me paint it...I'm still working on him though...
Blessings,
Robin

The name of your blog drew me over here! So cute :)
Yeah, I think when we are happier with something changed...then change it! I'd love to paint my mother's dark wall paneling...she says "but thats original!"

I love having items in my house that have a story.
